Dr. Bagheri obtained his BSc in Applied Physics with highest distinction from Tehran University in 1989,
Master’s degree in Medical Physics from The University of Western Ontario in 1993 and PhD degree
in Medical Physics from Carleton University in 1999. He is board certified by the American Board of
Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics and is a member of The American Society of Therapeutic
Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO).
Dr Bagheri has authored several peer-reviewed papers and two book chapters and is the 2003 winner
of the Farrington Daniels Award by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) for the
best paper published on radiation dosimetry. He is a member of the AAPM Task Group 105 (Clinical
implementation of the Monte Carlo method in external beam radiation therapy treatment planning) and
associate editor for the Medical Physics journal. He held an appointment at Drexel University College of
Medicine as Clinical Adjunct Professor and is experienced with TomoTherapy, GammaKnife Radiosurgery
and prostate seed implants.
