First Visit
Your first visit will give us an opportunity
to get to know you and to learn about your condition. We
suggest that, if possible, you bring a family member along
with you. We will allow plenty of time for you and those
close to you to ask the doctor all your questions before
treatments are started. You probably will not have a treatment
on your first visit.
You will initially meet with one of our
nurses to review your history and prepare you for your exam.
We will weigh you, take your blood pressure and take an
identification photograph of you so that all of us on the
staff can recognize you. One of our doctors will then meet
with you and perform a physical exam. After the exam, the
doctor will conference with you and your family. No two
patients are the same, and we need to determine whether
you are a candidate for radiation therapy and whether any
additional testing is needed. We will review the potential
side effects of radiation therapy. Our goal is to get to
know you as a person and to determine what the best treatment
is for your particular situation.
At this first visit you will meet with
a member of our business office to review your insurance coverage
and answer any billing questions.
